Celebrating two years of the swimriser blog

When I started the blog I was hoping to post pictures of our swims for one year - to track the seasons and the moon cycles. I feel like I've done that, and I was not really sure if I wanted to renew the subscription end of May. But then I thought why not continue for another year or two, and to perhaps only post once a week and to actually write/blog a bit more. This will be a nice repository and memories for us.
Lots of things has happened in the swimrisers lives over the past two years, some good, some bad, and some sad. The group expands and withers like the seasons, but there is a core group of us, and in a way our lives are intertwined as we spend 20 minutes most mornings chatting, no phones, no distractions, no other stuff. I'm probably the least chatty though as I prefer silence before and as I enter the water - to take it all in, to remember how blessed I am to live in Hout Bay, and to feel the water. It's a bit of focus time before the rush of the day, before paying attention to the outside demands.
We did not swim this morning, the waves were to big, so some of the crew had coffee, and I stopped to say hello before a run.
Picture was taken after 08h00, and I tried to capture the beautiful rainbow.
