Being playful

It is finally lighter in the mornings! Summer is on it's way...I know, that is perhaps a little too enthusiastic, but we all need good news on a Monday!

It's a happy talent to know how to play (unknown).

I try not to name people, but today I will break the rule, because this blog is about playing. Anna is so joyful in the water, playing and splashing and just having fun. It is a joy to watch her enjoy the water, and then I wonder...when did life become so serious? Even our swimming - must be at 7, must be for 20 minutes, must go beyond the waves (where you can actually play) to float and bob beyond the waves. Like why?

As Mokokoma Mokhonoana says The worst thing about our cultures, education systems, and religions is that they make us take life seriously.”

So, the goal then for me for this week, is to remember to be as playful as Anna. Not just in the water, but in everything else.
